Wedding Anniversary Dinner at Cookbook Kitchen

My mom and dad is celebrating their 27th anniversary today. They treated the whole family to this small, family-run restaurant that is quite hard to find in the outskirts of Mandaluyong City called Cookbook Kitchen.

Located in 8 Socorro Fernandez Street, a stone-throw away from Luna Mencias Street which is a known shortcut for people coming from the central and north area of Metro Manila going to Makati/Mandaluyong area, the restaurant, apparently, is connected to the residence compound of the owners.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a cozy and home-like ambience of the place, on top of that, by a very friendly pool of staff.

What's interesting is that behind the al fresco dining area is a work-out gym. I can imagine myself working out and drooling while looking at people having scrumptuous meals. Bad influence!

Items we ordered that I can recommend goers to try are:
Kielbasa
Parmesan Crusted White Fish
Pork Steak with Honey Mustard Sauce
Refillable Red Iced Tea

I find the way they serve steam rice cute:

We also ordered a few slices of cake for desert. Among the 3, I liked Kittin's Scarlet Cake the most. How to describe it, I'm not sure either and even the menu wasn't very descriptive. All I can say is that it was great!

The Strawberry Shortcake Overload too was great.

We also ordered a slice Helen's Moist Chocolate Cake but I thought it was so-so.

One thing to note, if you plan to dine here, make sure you have reservations. Diners usually place reservations in advance and the few left seats are usually filled up fast! To check their menu, location or contact number, just click on the link above.
