Puerto del Sol

So like I mentioned in my previous post, we were to a vacation late November 2007. The place we went to is called Puerto Del Sol. This was a planned trip as a birthday gift to our mom. The resort is located in Bolinao, Pangasinan around 4 hours away from Manila.

The place is lovely and full of greens. It looks more of like a grand rest house than a resort. Because the grounds is big and the number of rooms are limited, you will feel that the resort experience is a bit intimate than the usual ones where there are lots of guests.

It was already late in the afternoon when we got there and the sun was about to set. Instead of swimming we just walked around the coastline and explored the nearby areas.

There were floating benches and huts where guests can stay, hang-out or put their things to keep them from getting wet.

We stayed in a Casita, the resort's version of a family suite. It is an airconditioned unit with 2 bedrooms, bathroom with hot and cold shower, living room, dining area and other amenities.

The place is beautiful in the evening, mostly because guests then preferred to stay in their rooms than swimming at night. They operate the jacuzzi tub at night which made it more fun and exciting for us.

Breakfast is included with the package. The breakfast area is al fresco type, open air and almost by the beach.

The next day was a very good day. The sun is shining bright but the water level was a bit low.

Because the water was low, we tried to walk as far as we can and this is a picture of how far we got from the coastline.

Walking towards the water and away from the coastline, we reached the breakwater. Forces of the waves were high and it was deemed a dangerous zone by the locals. Still there are hard-headed people who wanted to deviate and reach for the more "exciting" part of the water.

Apparently just days before we arrived, a ship carrying coal with traces of gold sanked near the area. Because of this, a new local livelihood was born - mining in the water!

The resort is by far one of the bests (if not the best) resort we've ever been together. Pools for both kids and adults, jacuzzi tub, massage and foot spa services. The resort by itself will keep you pampered and busy. They also offer other services such as a tour of the area for other spots (which we took) and an island hopping experience via boat (unfortunately it was unavailable due to waves at that time). Only downside is it is quite a far and long trip to reach but once you're there you will feel it's well worth it.

More pictures are available in multiply. Just add me as a friend to view them.
