Niagara Falls

After a night's stay at my uncle's place in Kitchener, Ontario, we went back to Toronto just as the snow stopped falling and the sun start shining.

We booked ourselves for a day trip to see the Niagara Falls and we left early in the morning to catch the bus going to Niagara (which is around 3 hours away).

Here are some of the scenes we passed by on the way to Niagara:

Niagara (and the falls) has 2 sides, one is in Niagara, Ontario, Canada which is believed to have the most picturesque view of the falls. The other side is on the Niagara, New York, USA. You can cross between the two countries via a bridge and at the end of the it (on the right side) is a border gate.

We had lunch at the Fallsview Restaurant located at the penthouse level of the Sheraton on the Falls Hotel.

While seated down and eating, we can't help but be awed by the beautiful view outside which is the Niagara Falls. The restaurant is in a perfect spot overlooking the scenery.

Before actually going near the Niagara Falls, we went to a few establishment in the area. One of which is the Coca-Cola Store. It is a soda shop selling the famous Coke and a few items and memorabilia.

We also went to The Hershey Store, selling what else but chocolate. We had a few samples and took home some items that is not sold in our home country.

We also planned to ride the Maid of the Mist but it was closed for the season when we went there. We settled instead to have a viewing of the Falls Movie in a neary IMAX Theatre. The movie run on the history around Niagara including myths and some queer attempts of people to be famous and make a record by doing something peculiar in the falls.

Displayed outside the viewing room are the actual and replica of the relics shown in the movie.

Across the IMAX Theatre is the Skylon Tower, an observatory and restaurant built in Niagara that gives a spectacular view of Niagara and the nearby towns in Canada and USA.

It was only after the movie that went beside the falls itself. It was really a stunning view. It looks different during summer (because there are greens) but nevertheless, it looks fantastics with frozen ice and flowing water.

Before we went back to Toronto, we passed by a terminal that offers helicopter tours in Niagara.
