Pike Place Market

While visiting Seattle, one should never leave the town without actually going to Pike Place Market, one of the oldest public farmer's market in the US. It is actually a complex comprised of a number of buildings built in a 9-acre property in downtown Seattle.

Although there are permanents stalls and shops inside, there are also long tables that are rented out by farmers and fishermen on a daily basis. This is in line with the goal of the market's founding mission for the buyers to actually "meet the producers". Because of this, you can expect to see different things each day.

Several things are sold in the market, mostly are fresh produce and fresh catches. Flowers, fresh meats, processed meats, souvenirs, syrups, seafoods, etc. are found in this market from early in the morning to late in the afternoon.

Flowers

Fresh Catch. Vendors here are famous and are featured in a few TV shows throwing and catching fishes from one vendor to another like a game.

Crustaceans and shellfishes. I wonder what Manila clams are?

Fresh Produce

Fresh bakes

The market is located along the shoreline, which gives buyers a nice view of the Elliott Bay.

Caught this scene in a delivery truck parked in front of the market. Dog in the driver's seat.
